Living on campus can be a great experience. You get to meet
new people and go out to new places. You might have some new experiences, good
and bad but all this, I believe make you grow more independent.
Yet things
change as well. We all know the feeling of having our parents nag us to “stop
watching TV” or “Get off the Xbox.” But if you live on campus like I do, it can
be hard because I don’t have anyone yelling at me not to get distracted. My
friends all live within walking distance and I can see them whenever I want, or
they can come into my room and see me. But this week I decided to find another
place to do my homework while my roommate had some friends in the room. I found,
just by going to the common room, I got more work done because I didn’t know
anyone in there and it was a much more peaceful environment. So, though, I had
no one nagging me to do my work, just by leaving my phone in my room and doing
my work in a quiet room, I got more work done than usual.
